"I'm always looking forward to my next lesson with Giuseppe.
First of all, this guy is a straight up PhD Dr. Opera Singer, like full chops in terms of experience and education for this sort of thing, and he would be fully justified in being pretentious about it but he is one of the most down to earth people I've honestly ever met. It's crazy as hell to just have this guy in little old Ferndale and we are blessed to have him.
Second, his teaching philosophy and style, at least for me, exist at a perfect balance of positive reinforcement, constructive criticism, and providing a challenge. Like, in every lesson Dr. Giuseppe has me just a hair outside my comfort zone basically the entire time. I'm sure if I asked him to dial it back or make it even harder he could do that no problem but his sense of intuition about what I can handle and the interventions he gives to correct my technique are so fluid and persistent it's almost like he's telepathic. This is a difficult art form to teach, I assume, because all the action is occuring inside your body using muscles and anatomical parts that we can't see or even control directly but Giuseppe is so perceptive and so clear in his explanations that progress, for me, has been extremely consistent. Now, despite the fact that I have a good student-teacher connection with this guy, I have to think Giuseppe would be a good fit for a lot of people because he is just a very fluidly intelligent guy and a master of his art form.
So, if you are looking to take voice lessons - and probably other types of music lessons - I can't recommend Dr. Giuseppe enough. He's a master vocalist, an incredible educator, and just a straight up cool dude. "
